Connected Journal
Cuisine sits at the heart of cities’ social and cultural fabric; it connects people, places, nature in ways that travelling and storytelling do. This concept shaped OpenTable’s exploration of London and New York. By pairing a local writer with a visiting photographer, both pairs experienced a local restaurant and its relationships to family, farm, and purveyor — Hundred Acres in New York and Grain Store in London, a compelling story story about these two cities emerged.
Connected, OpenTable’s quarterly journal, was launched on 12th July 2016, in nearly simultaneously events held in London and New York and brought together local writers who chronicled their love for restaurants in their city.
I was one of the designers responsible for the creation of the Connected visual identity, the journal editorial design, and the event design.
