Hi, I’m Maria. A Lead Brand Designer based in London

I’ve been the EMEA focused Brand Designer at OpenTable since September 2015. Working closely with Marketing, I help provide visual solutions for their communications, focus on elevating the brand and localise it as OpenTable expands into new markets. Working with both sides of the business — B2C (diners) and B2B (restaurants) — I’m eager to explore new ideas and solutions, and help the brand grow and evolve.

I’ve worked closely with external creatives, art directing illustrators and photographers, for initiatives such as OOH campaigns and restaurant facing testimonials.

General Assembly – UX

On November 2016 I’ve finished the UX Design course at the General Assembly.

Before OpenTable

Before joining OpenTable I’ve worked 3.5 years at Warm&Fuzzy, a design studio with offices in Derby and London, working across multiple projects and dealing with a wide range of clients and industries. Prior to this role, I worked as a freelance graphic designer for Guimarães European Capital of Culture 2012, producing a wide range of materials, from print to digital.

A little bit more about me

I have an MA in Graphic Branding and Identity from the London College of Communication (University of the Arts London), and I’m also a founder member of CAAA – Centre for Arts and Architecture Affairs (Guimarães, Portugal), a nonprofit cultural institution whose mission is to support and encourage artistic creation and application of new methods of production.

When I’m not doing brand design, I travel, enjoy discovering new restaurants and practice pilates.
